Research Society for American Periodicals  An outstanding resource.   The RSAP is an interdisciplinary organization of scholars interested in American magazines and newspapers. It publishes the journal American Periodicals.  First-class links.

U.S. Newspaper Program.  A cooperative national effort among the states and the federal government to locate, catalog, and preserve on microfilm American newspapers published from the eighteenth century to the present
